DRIVER TRAINING ACADEMY
Convey Dangerous Goods by Road To meet the requirements of the National Road Traffic Act, the DTA has trained 372 drivers in the accredited Convey Dangerous Goods by Road programme. Additionally, 86 employees have completed the Qualified Person and General Dangerous Goods training, ensuring legal compliance at Chemical Logistics sites. DTA Accreditation To deliver this wide range of training, the DTA maintains accreditation for several unit standards, including: • US 123253 – Operate a Rigid Heavy Vehicle • US 123254 – Operate a Vehicle Combination • US 123257 – Operate a Rigid Light Vehicle • US 123259 – Convey Dangerous Goods by Road • US 12484 – Perform Basic Fire Fighting • US 242972 – Operate Advanced Defined Purpose Lift Truck • US 242974 – Operate Counter Balanced Lift Truck • US 242978 – Operate Truck Mounted Crane • US 242981 – Operate Defined Purpose Lift Trucks
Occupational Health and Safety Training In line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the DTA has delivered both novice and refresher training for 240 employees operating lifting equipment such as reach trucks and forklifts. Furthermore, 43 employees have completed accredited firefighting training, meeting essential legal safety requirements. QCTO Accreditation Achievements The DTA has also achieved accreditation under the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) for the following:

Training Statistics for 2025 DRIVING EXCELLENCE FORWARD
The DTA’s achievements in 2025 reflect a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous development across the Value Group. From onboarding new drivers and upgrading existing talent to delivering accredited training in dangerous goods handling and occupational safety, the DTA continues to play a vital role in shaping a skilled and responsible workforce.
The Driver Training Academy (DTA) has had a busy and impactful year so far, with several key training initiatives rolled out across the Value Group. Here’s a snapshot of our progress from January 2025 to date.
Annual Driver Re-Evaluations Between January and the end of September, 1,251 drivers underwent re-evaluation. These assessments are essential for identifying deteriorating driving habits and reinforcing compliance with safety and operational standards. Driver Upgrading Programme The DTA continues to support career progression through its structured upgrading programme. This includes crew members transitioning to truck drivers and Code 10 drivers upgrading to Code 14. So far in 2025, 40 employees have completed their upgrades following intensive training and assessment.
New Driver Evaluations Since the start of the year, the DTA has conducted 557 evaluations for new drivers across various vehicle classes. Of these, 346 drivers were deemed competent and joined the Group, while 211 were found to be not yet competent. These results highlight our rigorous evaluation standards to maintain operational excellence and safety. Each evaluation is tailored to meet the diverse requirements of our fleet. Soft Skills Training Soft Skills Training has reached 1,942 participants this year, including permanent drivers, customer drivers, new driver recruits, and crew members. Delivered in a classroom-based setting, this theory training focuses on enhancing professionalism, communication, and safety awareness across all operational environments.
