BELOW IS HER JOURNEY
Completing my Honours degree in Supply Chain Management has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It’s not only sharpened my strategic thinking but also deepened my understanding of how supply chains operate as complex, interconnected systems. The coursework challenged me to think critically and strengthened my analytical and problem solving skills, giving me the ability to make data-driven decisions and contribute to more efficient, resilient supply chain operations. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of cross-functional collaboration. When teams are aligned and working toward shared goals, the impact on performance and innovation is powerful. I’m truly grateful to Value for the opportunity to pursue this qualification, and to everyone who supported me along the way. Your encouragement, guidance, and belief in me made this achievement possible. I’m excited to take what I’ve learned and apply it to real-world challenges, helping build supply chains that are not only efficient, but also sustainable and future-ready”
In 2024, I was privileged to be nominated by Value Logistics to participate in the MAP Program at Wits Business School, a journey that became so much more than just an academic opportunity. It was an experience that stretched me, challenged me, and ultimately helped me grow, both professionally and personally. The programme brought together remarkable women from diverse companies and industries, each bringing unique skills and perspectives. Through these engagements, I gained insights that extended far beyond my existing experience and broadened my understanding of business as a whole.
As a Financial Manager, I had often focused deeply on my role and responsibilities. The MAP Program encouraged me to lift my head and look at business on a much broader scale. It gave me the chance to “step into different shoes” - to understand the challenges and decisions faced at various managerial levels and across different divisions. This shift in perspective allowed me to see how every role contributes to the bigger picture of organisational success. The program itself was fast-paced and demanding, requiring us to absorb significant amounts of information in a short space of time and apply it in practical ways through assignments, projects, and examinations. Balancing these expectations with my professional and personal commitments was not easy - time management became my greatest challenge. Yet, it was through that challenge that I discovered resilience, focus, and the importance of prioritisation. Looking back, I am grateful for the opportunity. The MAP Program didn’t just expand my knowledge of business, it expanded my vision of what is possible for myself. It reminded me that growth often happens outside of our comfort zones and that with determination, discipline, and support, we can rise to meet any challenge”
